Welcome to Enertechnos

Who are we?

When the question involves decarbonisation, the answer involves electricity.

Founded in 2014, Enertechnos is developing more efficient low-carbon electrical network solutions. Today, we are a pioneering clean technology innovator, dedicated to delivering decarbonisation and supporting the transition to net zero.

What’s the problem?

One of the obstacles on the path to net zero is inefficient power delivery which in turn generates higher costs for consumers. These losses are getting worse and will continue to do so with the electrification of the heat and transport sectors.

How do we help?

To address this issue, we invented the ‘Capacitive Transfer System’ (CTS), which reimagines the cable design. This allows innovative and cost-effective applications in power delivery, electronic vehicle (EV) charging and decarbonisation of airports.

Welcome to Enertechnos

Enertechnos is a pioneering clean-tech innovator, dedicated to delivering decarbonisation and supporting the transition to net zero. The company was founded in 2014 with the goal of developing more efficient low carbon solutions for electrical networks. It is unquestionable that whenever the question involves ‘decarbonisation’ the answer involves ‘electricity’.

One of the obstacles on path to net zero is inefficient power delivery that increases energy losses consequently effecting costs on consumers. These losses will only get worse with increasing electrification of heat, transport and other sectors therefore threatening our 2050 net zero targets.

To address this issue we invented a new concept called ‘Capacitive Transfer System’ (CTS) which reimagines the cable design. This allows innovative and cost-effective application in power delivery, EV charging and decarbonisation of airports.

Our Solutions

Advantages of CTS

The CTS cable design counteracts the inductive reactance generated by current flow, reducing total cable impedance and, thus, voltage drop. This significantly expands the range where a conventional cable has reached its limit and reduces energy losses.

In addition to reducing energy losses, our CTS-enabled solutions have numerous advantages. This includes minimising capital costs, reducing maintenance requirements, saving raw materials and preserving natural beauty.

Lower power delivery losses

Innovative cable design provides up to 10% reduction in losses allowing more power to be delivered from sustainable generation

Lower capital costs

CTS cable solutions require smaller cable cross section or operate at a lower voltage level to deliver the same power as existing cables

Lower ongoing operating costs

A reduced number of system components leads to lower maintenance requirements or operation at lower voltage with less technically complex solutions

Higher availability

CTS-enabled high-frequency power system solutions allow for flexible topologies and diverse operating regimes

Expandability

CTS cable opens opportunities to develop power systems that allow for easy-to-expand and modular solutions, accelerating the implementation of low-carbon technologies

The electricity sector is going through a transformation

How electricity is generated and consumed has changed dramatically over the last decade and this transition is expected to continue. Global peak energy demand is projected to increase by 170% by 2050, requiring $14 trillion of grid investment to support demand growth and renewables.

CTS is a disruptive power delivery technology that marks decades’ first fundamental change to power cable design and fabrication. In addition, CTS leverages existing cable-manufacturing methods, minimising cost and complexity.

Application of CTS in different sectors opens limitless opportunities to improve power delivery, transport and aviation electrification, and other industrial applications.
