Smart Grid

Smart grid investment is growing as grids adapt from the old paradigm, where power systems and power markets were designed for unidirectional flows of electricity from large-scale, typically fossil-fuelled  generation to the transmission network, then to the distribution network and, finally, into people’s homes, to the new system of distributed generation with multi-directional flows and integration of power generated from local renewable assets with conventional generators. These smart grids require innovations in T & D technology such as embedded data transmission in cables, which CTS can provide, in order to maximise the benefits and therefore represent an excellent opportunity for the Company.
